The annual event of IEACI, China International Education Fair on Cultural & Creative Industries (CIEFCCI) 2014 is on its way.

This year, CIEFCCI will last from Oct.17 to Oct.22 in Hangzhou, which also named as “Creative Sharing Week” (CSW). During the week, activities including an international portfolio review focused event “China Portfolio Day”, an academy and industry communication event “Mind Storm Night”, a cross country exhibition “Say No to Haze”, also with more lectures, workshops and salons attended by top designers, educators and students.

CIEFCCI is willing to give high school students, undergraduates & postgraduates, industry practitioners a better idea about their studies and jobs. Also, this large event is to promote the sound development and to build the sustainable ecosystem of international education on cultural & creative industries, which is the main vision of IEACI.

CIEFCCI

China Portfolio Day (CPD)

Hangzhou
CPD, one of the most important parts of CIEFCCI, is especially for portfolio review. Many outstanding art colleges and institutes from Europe and North America will come to Hangzhou to give students advices about their portfolios. CPD 2014 would go into three creative places in Hangzhou, which including two colleges (Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and China Academy of Art) and one high school (Hangzhou Foreign Languages School). It is a very good chance for students to communicate with professors face to face. Also, it’s also a great opportunity for colleges to have more insight about Chinese students.

MindStorm Night (MSN)

Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum, Hangzhou
MSN is another significant event of CIEFCCI, which focus on academic area and the whole creative industry. There are several guest speakers from different background to discuss about how does technology innovation, design thinking, creative works change our thoughts and life style. MSN is divided into two part. The first half part is a general information presentation about what social problems we are faced today. The second part will be the main mind storm session. Five speakers will use their own experience to show the audience how they use their knowledge to solve the social problem. Each speaker only allow to have 21 slices in the PPT with 20 second for each slice. It will be even more exciting than a debate. The audience will gain a lot of latest idea about social innovation.

Say No to Haze

Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum, Hangzhou
Besides CPD & CSW, there will be a poster exhibition (Oct.17-31) titled as “Say No to Haze” in Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum. 300 posters chosen from 3,500 artists and designers will be display to the public. Mr. Klaus Hesse is one of the Jury.

More lectures, workshops, salons will be hosted in Xiasha Higher Education Zone in Hangzhou, which is the Centre of the largest Higher Education Zone in East China.The guest speakers will including Director of International Design School from Zhejiang University, Dean of Graphic Design School from China Academy of Art, and many top designers and experts from South Korea, Hong Kong & Taiwan.
