2015 Asia Design Management Forum | xTalents Creative Talents Exchange Conference Closed Successfully

2015 ADM xTalents Creative Talents Exchange Conference closed successfully on Nov. 6 in Hangzhou. The academic representatives from over 40 global art & design colleges and design departments of comprehensive universities gathered in Hangzhou, attended the meeting, and discussed with the cultural & creative industry insiders, college students, faculties, and well-known cultural & creative enterprise representatives on the important issues of the cultivation and development of creative talents, cooperation among colleges, school-enterprise cooperation, international exchange and etc.

With the clear bracing air and bright blue sky outside, the conference enjoyed a warm and fantastic atmosphere. The conference site is located at the protected old factory building of Hangzhou Boiler Factory. The hall with a capacity of 400 people is fully occupied. Many people attracted to present are all standing in the walkway of the hall, listening to the sharing from the masters and participating in the warm and fantastic interactions.

The conference is divided into several parts of speakers’ keynote speech, panel discussion, matching dinner and free communication. Mr. Jie Bao, the Secretary General of International Education Alliance for Creative Industries, delivered a welcoming speech and hosted the conference. Dr. Jun Hai, the Secretary General of ADM Forum and Director of National Design Strategy Development and Design Management Center, CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts), gave a speech on “The Possibility of Creation”, analyzing that “creation is independent but not rebellious, sincere but not hostile.”

David William, CEO of Gilimbaa, Australian indigenous creative design organization and 2014 Australia G20 Summit Design team, brought forward the story behind the design of the logo of 2014 Australia G20 Summit, introduced how to integrate the indigenous culture into design and how to tell stories by creative design. Xiaofeng Bao, the associate director of Internationalization of Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, introduced their successful experience of cooperation among schools and international exchange. Dr. Meijun Guo, the associate director of John Hawkins Creative Industry Research Center, Shanghai Theatre Academy, made a keynote speech on authentic learning, cross integration, and cross-border talents cultivation.

At the meanwhile, there are also industry representatives, Mr. Lian Li, CEO of Zhejiang Versatile Media Group, Director of 3D Animation Kunta, shared his personal cross-border experience and the necessity and importance of cross-border talents cultivation. Xiaofeng Song, the former Senior Product Design Director, co-founder and CEO of 021 Incubator, illustrated the conception of incubator, attracting great attention from the on-site design entrepreneurs. Zijian Zhang, the popular domestic design opinion holder, researcher of Beijing Ideaworks Synthesis Design Research Institute, brought inspirations and thinking for the audience with his own example of role transformation by his profound speech and humorous illustration. At last, the Secretary General of IEACI, Mr. Jie Bao had his say again, announced the birth of the first ADM precipitation platform also the online interactive platform, xTalents, which is to construct the community culture for Chinese cultural & creative professionals by the joint work of IEACI and the global career social platform LinkedIn / Chitu. After the keynote speech, all the speakers went back to the stage, participating in the warm panel discussion session, and exploring the road to cultivate and develop creative talents and improve the cross integration in the fields of culture and creation.

At nightfall, the xTalents representatives from education and industry jointed in the matching dinner. In the light atmosphere created by the delicate food and wine provided by the Bulthaup Michelin starred chef, dozens of specialists in education, enterprise and public institutions explored together the possibilities of the future cooperation and development.
